How to install a Pressure Booster Pump
- Verify the pressure rating of the overall plumbing system where the pumpset is to be installed, ensuring the pipes can withstand the maximum operating pressure of pump.
- Thoroughly inspect pipelines for leaks before installation to prevent potential issues and ensure seamless operation
- Refer Fig. 1, shown below to ensure all accessories are fitted properly.
- Prepare a level concrete foundation for mounting the pressure booster pump and tighten the motor base using the foundation bolts as shown in Fig. 2 below:
- Use prescribed pipe sizes as mentioned on the product name plate.
- Ensure that pipe joints are properly fitted.
- Ensure pressure tank and pressure controller settings are done right and align with field requirement.
- Refer Fig. 3, shown below for negative suction installation and ensure pump is filled with water for priming.
- Refer Fig. 4, shown below for positive suction installation.
- For overhead tank application, install bypass valve to ensure continuous water supply during power interruptions.
- Motor is of the dry type; therefore, do not install the pressure booster pump in an open atmosphere. Ensure proper roofing for the pumpset.
- Ensure all fasteners are tightened properly.
- Ensure the direction of rotation is in the same direction as that marked on the fan shield.
- Ensure that air flow to the cooling fan, located at the rear side of the motor, is not blocked.
- For motor power supply, based on the pump set's power rating, install a 3-pin socket near the pump set to connect the 3-pin power guard.
