How field operating conditions can play an important role in product performance
Background: Mr.Ananth, a customer in Bangalore, reported product failure with his TRS 3530 SI + TS093 X model. The product failed after running for five days. It was installed at a depth of 850 feet.
Assessment by Taro Pumps: An understandably angry customer needed immediate support since the pump was being used to water his crops. Product assessment was carried out immediately and we observed:
-
Missing pump strainer
-
Pump jammed with mud, and small stones
-
A cable was cut
-
Few scratch marks in motor housing
-
The motor was functional
Solution / Action: Repairs were carried out promptly. Pump was dismantled, all stones and debris were cleared, and pump was reassembled. The cable was replaced with a new one. Thorough testing was carried out to check play, rotation, and functioning of the pump. The product was delivered to Mr.Ananth within three hours.
Outcomes: Mr.Ananth was given the information on how field operating conditions caused product failure. Our team ensured direct, clear, transparent communication throughout the process. We also recommended our customer to use only skilled technicians for installation, and to reduce the depth from 850 feet to 800 feet. A pump strainer is also highly recommended. All of which delighted Mr.Ananth who gave us positive feedback.
