Technology, Techniques, And Taro Pumps
Technology - it is omnipresent and dare we say omnipotent too? At Texmo Industries, technology is one of the most powerful factors that has gone into creating our brand - Taro Pumps. As a manufacturing company, technology has been in our DNA since we began our operations back in 1956. From those days of yore to now, we have harnessed technology to achieve a few important aims:
- Provide better service to customers
- Improve collaboration and communication between our own teams
- Make better products that deliver durable and dependable value to our customers
- Make our processes more efficient and repeatable
- Strengthen the market presence and reputation of our brand
Tech & our world
Almost all definitions of technology focus on the fact that it is the application of knowledge for practical purposes. While it is mostly associated with industry, science, research, engineering etc, there is another interesting angle to the word ‘technology’. It stems from the Greek words ‘techne’ and ‘logia’. ‘Techne’ also means art or craft and ‘logia’ means study. Imagine that - technology has an art & craft angle to it!
But for those of us who work with technology, we are very aware of the artistry of sophisticated technology and the artisanship of the person who harnesses the power of this wonderful technology.
Daniel Bell, an American intellectual, likens technology to a soaring exercise of the human imagination. Technology soars in every aspect of our world today. It takes on different forms, for sure, but it is in the phones we use, the apps we download, the virtual tours we take, the machines we interact with, and the vehicles we drive. Yet another inspirational quote on technology comes from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, “As a young citizen of India, armed with technology and love for my nation, I realise, a small aim is a crime”.
And our team has taken this quite literally and aimed high and big because we have been and continue to be a tech-focussed company.
Tech at Texmo Industries
Innovation has been one of the keystones in our technology. Design thinking and a focus on making products with long term impact have driven the way we think about tech. Way back in 1956, Texmo started its operations in a small shed but even then, technology helped in making pumps that were affordable.
Since then, our team has used cutting-edge machinery, digital technology, quality-driven processes, and unbeatable passion to bring an ecosystem of products & services into the world. Some of the results of technology at Texmo Industries are:
- The unique ‘finned’ motor design
- Adoption of computerisation way back in 1980
- Introduction of signature products such as monoblocks, and openwell submersible pumps
- 2D CAD technology – way back in 1990 and
- A full-fledged research & development lab that is constantly testing new tech and helping us make continuous improvements
Finally, we know that technology does not exist in isolation. There is an underlying relationship between our people and the tech we deploy. And understanding this philosophy has also helped us look at technology to help employees work better so that our customers get products that are better than any of our competitors’.
